Surface-mount device (SMD)
Surface-mount device (SMD) it is
a kind of electronic device or component usually mounted or placed directly
onto the surface of printed circuit boards (PCBs). Phisically this component is
smaller than through hole component. It
have short pins or flat contacts, a matrix of solder balls, or terminations on
the body of the component.
